Independence Day...a little early

Strange as it seems, I love to take pictures in old cemetaries. These were taken in the historic Oakwood Cemetary in Parsons. We will be traveling, so this will probably be my last post before the actual Independence Day, and I wanted to share some patriotic images to pay tribute to those who gave so much so that we could enjoy so many freedoms.

Obviously not in a cemetary, this one came from Eureka Springs, but it fits the theme. These flags caught my eye as we drove around the historic loop.

Horsin' Around

Our Carter/Moses kids came out today for some quality time with Papa Mike and the horses. It was great to get to spend some time with Johnny, Loretta and Josh while they are home. All the boys took a turn driving, while us girls just chilled in the wagon.

Our New Tenant

A barn swallow has moved in and built her nest on top of the ceiling fan on our porch, right outside the kitchen door. Each morning this week as I sit at the kitchen table and drink my coffee, I've watched her working hard on her new home. I hope she stays a while. I think I'll call her Mabel.

Street Musicians

This is what I love about Eureka Springs. It's such a bohemian kind of place. On any given day you might find musicians, artists, or who knows what else, doing their thing in the park, or on the street. These guys were just sitting on a bench on the sidewalk, playing some great bluesy music.
