This was Jake's first year to go snagging for spoonbill in the river, and it looks like he did pretty well. Those are some big fish!

Kudos to my Sis!

I have to brag about my sister. Not only is she my best friend, but she is the most amazing, talented and creative person I know. And humble. I'm sure she'll be embarrassed by this, but that's ok.

She designs and makes beautiful jewelry, and has for a while. Lately she has discovered a new style, called wire crochet. It is very cool and unique. Big Kansas Sky

Montana may be the official Big Sky Country, but we have some pretty amazing ones right here in Kansas. I got out last Sunday with my new lens and shot these big stormy skies. They were pretty awesome. I guess these guys were curious. They just kept following me around.

Big surprise!

This came in the mail yesterday!!! It's from my Peapal. That's a penpal from the twopeasinabucket photography message board that I'm always on. Her name is Raechel, and we've been emailing for a while and getting to know each other. And she is AWESOME!! Thank you SO much Raech!!

Spring Burn

The wind and the weather were just right for burning off pasture today, so that is what we did. It's a time-consuming process, with a lot of time spent just watching and waiting, to make sure it doesn't get out of control, or burn something that you don't want burned. And with our track record where fires are concerned lately, we were not taking any chances. So of course I brought along my camera to help me pass the time and keep me entertained during the boring parts.
Some of these photos look a little extreme - that's because I've been playing with my new Topaz Adjust filter for Photoshop. As you can see, it can add some pretty WOW effects.

Photography Class Slideshow

I have been taking a class called "Eye of the Photographer," and last night was the last class. It has been lots of fun, and has made me get out and shoot pictures every week to turn in for the assignments. It's also challenged me to shoot things that I might not have otherwise. Our instructor selected 100 of her favorite images from those that had been turned in throughout the semester and put them in what she calls "The Best of the Best" slideshow. I was really proud to have several of my photos included. Here is a slideshow of all the photos I turned in for my assignments. They had to be straight out of the camera (SOOC) when we turned them in...no editing, no Photoshop magic.

Finally - some long awaited Riley pics! Only a couple though. I've been busy, busy lately and haven't had much time to play with them. Here's a sneak preview of her in the tutu that Mom made. She wasn't sure what to think at first, but after her mommy put it on and danced around a little, Riley thought it was great fun.
